Biography
Anton Lindenblatt (he/they) is a queer and neurodivergent Canadian composer based in Calgary, Alberta. Graduating from the University of Lethbridge with a Bachelor of Music, Anton studied euphonium performance and composition with Dr. Nick Sullivan and Dr. Arlan Schultz.
Anton has partnered with ensembles, both local and international, including the nationally awarded Con Brio Trio of Lethbridge, the Westwinds Music Society in Calgary, and most recently the Society for New Music’s Geneva Music Festival in New York. His work for solo euphonium and electronics, “Unidentified Funky Object (UFO)” was selected as a showcase piece for the National American Brass Band Association’s (NABBA) Solo Contest.
As an educator with a background in concert band, Anton is passionate about all things music education, and believes music can be a tool to build and strengthen community ties; fostering relationships through shared emotional connections. He currently works at the Canadian Music Centre, Prairie Region as a library and administrative assistant, in addition to his role as digital engraver for the Violet Archer collection.
In his spare time, Anton can be found playing euphonium and tuba in the Westwinds Music Society’s Wind Orchestra and Symphonic Bands, trying to cook new dishes, or reading the latest literary fiction.
